The first official tournament of the year started in Aalsmeer (NL)january 6th, with the country quota matches.
This first day of the ever indoor Beach Volleyball event was a good success day. Turkish and Dutch teams needed to face each other in this head-to-head competition. During the first few matches, the great potential of this tournament became clear. The uniqueness of the venue – The Beach (Indoor Sport & Event Center) contributes at great atmosphere, which should cause high hopes for the weekend.
The great atmosphere continued yesterday with the qualifications matches where we could attend interesting matches. In the first qualifying match Stephen Boissiere and François Hertwig (FRA) competed against Murat Giginoglu and Hakan Gögtepe (TUR). The Turkish team didn’t have great difficulties and won in two straight sets (21-9, 21-13). The other Turkish team Emir Akdogan and Soner Erdogmus played their qualifying match against the Serbian duo comprising Nenad Tatic and Igor Tesic who won finally 2-0 (21-13, 21-19).
The Belgian brothers Fabian and Christophe Jadot had to play for a place in the main draw against Kunert and Koraimann from Austria. In a thrilling match which lasted almost one hour Kunert and Koraimann won in the end 2-1 (14-21, 21-19, 15-8).
Soeren-Svane Hoyer and Dennis Hansen from Denmark competed against Ruslan Baranov and Viktor Popovych from Ukraine. Although the first set was an easy win for Hoyer and Hansen (21-14), the second one was sensational. With a final score of 25-23 the dannish players won finally.
In the last qualifying match of the day, the local heroes Richard de Kogel and Marco Daalmeijer played against the Danish team Daniel Thomsen and Peter Lyo. The dutch team won the match 2-0 (21-10, 22-20).
At the end of the day, the Turkish team Emir Akdogan and Soner Erdogmus became the lucky losers of the qualifying matches and filled the last spot available in the main draw after the withdrawal – due to injury – of Germany’s stars Brink/Reckermann.

Le premier tournoi officiel de l’année a commencé à Aalsmeer (NL) le 6 janvier, avec les matchs de country quotas. Ce premier jour du premier événement officiel Indoor de Beach Volley a été un succès. Les équipes turques et hollandaises ont dû se faire face. Lors des premiers matchs, le grand potentiel de ce tournoi est devenu clair. L’unicité du lieu – The Beach (centre d’événement et de pratique indoor) contribue à la grande atmosphère, qui devrait causer des grandes espérances pour le week-end.
La grande atmosphère a continué hier lors des matchs de qualifications où le public a pu assister à des matchs interessants.
Lors du premier match de qualification Stephen Boissiere et François Hertwig (FRA) a rencontré contre Murat Giginoglu et Hakan Gögtepe (TUR). L’équipe Turque n’a pas eu de grandes difficultés et gagnent le match en 2 sets (21-9, 21-13).
L’autre équipe turque Emir Akdogan et Soner Erdogmus a joué contre le duo serbe composée de Nenad Tatic et Igor Tesic qui a gagné finalement 2-0 (21-13, 21-19).
Les frères belges Fabian et Christophe Jadot ont dû jouer, pour gagner sa place dans le Main Draw, contre Kunert et Koraimann (AUT). Ce match d’une intensité maximum a duré presque une heure et ce sont les autrichiens Kunert et Koraimann qui gagnent à la fin 2-1 (14-21, 21-19, 15-8).
Ce match a été suivi d’un autre match passionant entre Soeren-Svane Hoyer et Dennis Hansen du Danemark et les ukrainiens Ruslan Baranov et Viktor Popovych. Bien que le premier set ait été une victoire facile pour Hoyer et Hansen (21-14), le second fut sensationnel. C’est avec un score final de 25-23 que les joueurs dannois ont gagné finalement.
Enfin dans le dernièr match du jour, les héros locaux Richard de Kogel et Marco Daalmeijer ont joué contre l’équipe danoise Daniel Thomsen et Peter Lyo. L’équipe hollandaise a gagné le match 2-0 (21-10, 22-20).
À la fin de cette journée, l’équipe turque composée d’Emir Akdogan et Soner Erdogmus sont devenus les lucky loosers du fait de la non participation des stars du Beach Volley Mondial Julius Brink et Jonas Reckermann pour blessures.
